Contact Valentine Lovekin

Graduating from Osgoode Hall, Valentine Lovekin was called to the bar in 1992. He was a partner in a well established firm before venturing into independent practice.

The focus of his practice encompasses estate, real estate and corporate law with expertise in commercial, and residential real estate and estate planning.

Beyond the practice of law, Valentine Lovekin is active in many different areas. Married, with four children, Valentine hails from a long line of legal professionals. Though his family history in Newcastle reaches back to a Crown Grant from Governor Simcoe in 1796 (according to Ripley's, the Longest Held Family Farm outside of Quebec), there have been as many lawyers as farmers in his ancestry. Fittingly, Valentine still maintains 35 acres of the original grant, rented out to local farmers. Newcastle residents will recognize the Lovekin Lane exit from Highway 115/35 - a testament to his heritage.

Two offices and four children notwithstanding, Valentine still makes time to volunteer once a week at Covenant House, a Toronto community drop-in centre for troubled youth. In addition to the hands-on volunteering work he has performed since the early nineties, Valentine brings to the centre the same creativity he exhibits in his practice: at one point, creating a program for young people to file long overdue tax returns - virtually always enabling them to get a refund!

His love of music and the arts has inspired him to work on legal issues for the American Federation of Musicians for some fifteen years, and he continues to perform pro bono work for a number of artists.
